Angry IP scanner is a very fast IP address and port scanner.
It can scan IP addresses in any range as well as any their ports. It is cross-platform and lightweight. Not requiring any installations, it can be freely copied and used anywhere.
Angry IP scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it’s alive, then optionally it is resolving its host-name, determines the MAC address, scans ports, etc. The amount of gathered data about each host can be extended with plugins.
It also has additional features, like Net BIOS information (computer name, work-group name, and currently logged in Windows user), favorite IP address ranges, web server detection, customizable openers, etc.
If you are a home user with a single computer you have nothing much to do with this tool apart from scanning your ISP and detecting open ports on the connected network range. Make sure you do not break any of your country law as some countries block the use of IP scans.
Network Admin will love this tool for what it is capable of achieving in a few seconds (depending upon the IP block range you are exploring). These are some of the important things which can help you out with your Network management –
