SMBGet tool is part of the samba suite.
smbget is a simple utility with wget-like semantics, that can download files from SMB servers. You can specify the files you would like to download on the command-line.
That small application just helps people to download and upload files via Samba (Windows Network) under Windows. Under other platforms like UN*X you may use it to download/upload files via NFS (Network File System) or any other protocol that allows to mount a remote network resource/share to a local drive/partiton/mount point.
The application is very useful if you have the Samba/Windows/NFS network with the big load and the slow connection speed. The application supports resume – it’s just a copying application that allows you to stop the copying and to continue it at any time from the position where you stopped.
